Services We Provide

Emerson Place Inc. manages and operates supervised group homes for intellectual disabled adults, ages 18 and over.  Individuals must be diagnosed as intellectually challenged and developmental disabilities.  Each residence is staffed with direct care providers, services are provided  twenty four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week.  At Emerson Place, Inc. we provide Independent Living Skills, supervised and hand over hand training and supportive services to enhance our residents’ sense of independence.
These services emphasize person centered planning which assist the individual with identifying their personal goals and developing a comprehensive system of supports and services to allow the individual to achieve their goals and to live and thrive in a community setting.

Direct Care Services:

  • Supervised and supportive services to assist resident with daily living requirements
  • Medication Management
  • Daily Nutrition
  • Cooperative Living
  • Medical Appointment Assistance
  • Community and Family Outings

Program Director and Management Services:

  • Resident Assessments – required to ensure that candidates for residency meet the entry criteria and that our program meets the individual’s needs
  • Review and supervise compliance with authorized individual service plans, focusing on adjustments or plan revisions based on individual requirement as our resident progress through their specialized plans
  • Develop, format and supervise the generation of all prescribed daily documentation mandated by the various local and state governing agencies and organizations
  • Liaison services – interface with resident authorized representatives, family members and governing local and state officials
  • Coordinate  Medical Appointments

Nutrition:

Emerson Place, Inc. provides daily meals prepared in the residence.  Menus are developed and supervised to ensure that each resident’s nutrient requirements are met.  Each resident is evaluated regarding their medical restrictions and dietary necessities.  Emerson Place, Inc. menu and food selection are scrutinized by a certified dietitian.
Supplementary services are also available to our residents.  Residents are eligible for adaptive aids and minor home modifications to allow increased personal accessibility and independence.

OUR CARETAKERS:

Our Resident Assistant Caretakers are specially trained to work with the intellectually challenged in all ways possible.  Because we provide shelter, comfort, food and more to our residents, care is more of a way of life at Emerson Place rather than a job to our care providers.

All Emerson Place Caretakers are licensed and trained in all of the following criteria:

  CPR/First-Aid certified
, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) – non-violent crisis management certified, Trained/Certified Food Handlers, Trained/Tested in 
Human Rights, 
Intellectual Disabilities Training
, Resolution Management and Medication Administration and Direct Care testing developed by the 
College of Direct Support. 
Ongoing continued education and certification renewal requirements are strictly enforced.
